March to june is considered as the summer months of kerala. Kerala had a unique system of predicting rainfall activity on the basis of planetary positions and Njattuvelas:meaning the suns activity. One Njattuvela means the days taken by the sun to transit 13.20 deg in the zodiac. After analysing the planetary positions we use to predict the possible suns activity during a Njattuvela in each month. It is said that in ancient times kerala people used to start agricultural operations on the basis of njattuvelas every year.
